چکیده

We present the design and evaluation of a flexible UHF RFID reader suited for experimentation. Our reader is built using the USRP software radio platform in conjunction with software we developed in the GNU Radio framework. We believe this is the first inexpensive tool that readily enables changes to the physical and MAC layer of RFID systems. Our reader further has sufficient performance to interoperate with commercial EPC Gen-2 RFID tags and achieves roughly 75% of the range of a commercial reader with comparable power. To support communication with commodity RFID tags, we aggressively reduced system latency from the 10s of milliseconds typical of USRP applications to consistently under 500 μs.

Approximation Trade-Offs in a Markovian Stream Warehouse: An Empirical Study UW TR: #UW-CSE-09-07-03

A large amount of the world’s data is both sequential and low-level. Many applications need to query higher-level information (e.g., words and sentences) that is inferred from these low-level sequences (e.g., raw audio signals) using a model (e.g., a hidden Markov model). This inference process is typically statistical, resulting in high-level sequences that are imprecise. Once archived, these ...

Design and Implementation of Multifunction UHF RFID Reader Based on MQX Real Time Operating System

Abstract We report on the development of UHF RIFD(Ultra High Frequency Radio Frequency Identification)reader based on MQX Real Time Operating System(RTOS) aimed at providing more communication interfaces and redevelopment platform. The developed RFID reader integrates a commercial off the shelf inductive coupling RF transceiver in 922 MHz band, fully compliant with ISO18000 standard, MCF52259 m...

Implementation of Novel EPC UHF RFID Tag with Sensor Data Transmission Capability

This paper proposed a novel EPC (Electronic Product Code) UHF RFID tag architecture to transmit both EPC code and sensor data. The RFID tag module contains a RF transceiver, command interpreter and digital anti-collision finite state machines, and sensor data input interface. The demo circuits were realized by combining an ALTERA Cyclone II EP2C5T144C7 FPGA chip with a hybrid RF front-end circu...

Fully integrated UHF RFID mobile reader with power amplifiers using System-in-Package (SiP)

A fully integrated system-in-package (SiP) for UHF (860– 960MHz) RFID mobile reader is presented. The SiP is made up of an UHF transceiver, a power amplifier (PA), and two baluns. The UHF transceiver was designed in TSMC 0.18μm Si CMOS and the PA was developed with InGaP/GaAs hetero-junction-bipolar transistor (HBT) technology. The transceiver IC is fully integrated for mobile UHF RFID applicat...
